Hello friends! As many of you already know, we are excited to announce that camp will have a new activity: Digital Photography!!! This class has been highly requested, and we feel like technology has finally developed enough to do it successfully. Photography is a personal love of mine – my mom and dad gave me my first 35mm camera in the 5th grade and it has since been a favorite hobby. I just know that you will love it here at camp!
In this class, you will be learning lots of new and exciting things! Among them – composition, lighting and editing will be a few techniques you will master! What an amazing place to take photos; not only does nature and wildlife abound (bunnies, puppies and chickens included), but we also have some of the most beautiful subjects to photograph around! There will be opportunities to submit your photos to the Greystone Gazette (our very own newspaper) or even be a guest photographer on one of Jimboy’s blog posts. Who knows, the camp Instagram could see a camper photo or two throughout the summer as well!
Here are some program specifics before you put in on your “must take” list of activities for summer 2015!
Where? The radio gazebo on the FAC porch will be the cool new locale. This building will have 6 iMac desktop computers waiting for you to upload and edit all of your photos! This will be the “hub” of photography; from here you will receive a daily project where you will then venture out into camp to take photos.
When? All day, every day!
What to bring? In order to take photography, you have to bring your own camera. We prefer you to have a Digital SLR, but any digital camera will work with the curriculum.
We are SO EXCITED for this! Not only will the program be great, but the counselors teaching will be EVEN BETTER. Summer 2015 please come quickly – we can’t wait to see all of your smiling faces!
