Hello alums! Spring means that camp is almost here, and while most of you won’t be pulling in the gates on Opening Day, your chance to be at camp is coming soon.
We are hosting a Great Day Alumnae Weekend this fall, and you are invited to join us: October 6-8, 2023!
Our Great Day gatherings are your opportunity to spend a laid-back weekend at Greystone with your camp friends. You’ll enjoy camp food, camp activities, and incredible mountain views, all while helping to raise money for the Great Day Fund. Keep reading for all the details, and register today!
The Alumnae Weekend will be October 6-8, 2023.
While we won’t have a huge celebration (like our 100th Reunion) until our next BIG anniversary, we hope to host these casual Great Day Weekends every couple of years.
All Greystone campers and staff alumnae who are at least 25 years old are invited to attend. While we love your spouses, children, and pets, we ask that you leave them at home for this one. This is a time to focus on catching up with your camp friends!
Are you under the age of 25? Gather your camp friends and come work the Great Day Weekend together! Fill out this form to sign up to work the weekend. We’ll send you more details about working closer to the event!
You will love staying in a camp cabin again! We’ll ask for your cabinmate requests and camp years when you register so that we can assign you to a cabin with friends. While we’ll do everything we can to ensure your cabin is comfortable, North Carolina weather in October can vary widely, so make sure to bring layers to make your bunk cozy!
If glamping is more your style, you are also welcome to stay in the local area and join us at camp during the day. You will be able to select “in camp” or “staying locally” when you register.
The registration fee for the weekend is $250 whether you are staying locally or at camp. Your entire payment will be donated by Greystone to the Great Day Fund, giving future Greystone Girls the opportunity to have the same camp experience you had!
All of your food and lodging for the weekend will be provided, but know that the Alumnae Weekend is BYOB (bug juice, of course!).
Since this weekend serves as a fundraiser, some alums graciously give above and beyond the registration fee. While this is not required, we welcome you to make a tax deductible donation online to the Great Day Fund if you’d like to give more than the $250 weekend cost.
If the registration amount is prohibitive for you, we welcome you to join our team to work the weekend or to see what scholarship options are available.
This will be a simple, laid-back weekend that focuses on what matters the most: being back at camp and spending quality time with your friends!
We’re leaving the extravagance to the 100th Reunion and keeping things simple this time around. Picture meals in the Dining Hall, singing around the campfire, church on Sunday, and plenty of time for DMCs. Don’t worry - there will also be a Talent Show, so start getting your acts ready!
Registrations are open now! Just fill out this form to sign up and submit your payment.
Space is limited, and we will close registration on September 1st or when we’re at capacity, so we recommend that you register as soon as you know that you’re “in” for the weekend.
We will send out more information to attendees in early September, but if you have any questions in the meantime, let us know! can answer all your questions about registration, and would love to talk to you about general weekend details. We hope to see you there!
